Seven Churches in South Oxfordshire

From the Rector: Sunday 12th May 2019

Dear friends,

Many greetings, and God’s peace be with you. Welcome to our worship this morning. We remain in the Easter Season, celebrating the risen life of our Lord Jesus, and God’s triumph over the powers of darkness and death.

Next weekend (18/19th May)  is your opportunity to enjoy both the beauty of God’s Creation, and also the skill and creativity of human artistry, in the Flower Festival at St Peter and Paul, Checkendon, which will be running the whole weekend. Entrance is free, teas and cakes will be available, and there is a special Festival service on the Sunday morning at 11am. Do come and marvel at the wonders of God’s hand, in a treasured historical setting.

For those of you who weren’t in church last week, do make a note in your diaries for the Team Feast on Sunday 30th June, at 10.30am which is our next Team Service. Checkendon Church will be hosting this, and, in honour of the Festival of St Peter and St Paul (Checkendon’s Patron Saints – 29th June), after the service at noon there will be a Team Feast  – a lunch at The Highwayman in Exlade Street.

Unlike the Church Service, for the lunch afterwards you must reserve your place in advance. You do this by emailing Debi Hornsby on  dahhornsby@gmail.com   Tel 01491 680204  The two course lunch is £20 per ticket. (£10 for a child) Debi will explain also about the menu options.  Book early to avoid disappointment!

May the grace of God be with you all, and may the joy of Easter touch us all.

Your Rector                    Canon Kevin Davies
