Patience, Patience

Dear friends,

The vaccine roll out continues to bring hope and the anticipation of emancipation. If there is one thing Brits are good at, it is knowing how to queue. So, in this, possibly the largest queue any of us will ever be a part of, lets keep patiently on the ball, and not relax the guard just yet. It won’t be long.

In the meantime, the season of Lent continues. Our daily “Lent Journey” at 8.30pm is beginning to move out of the desert and towards Galilee with Jesus. You can join the pilgrimage using zoom numbers 842 3891 2144 and 123165. Do make a note of them in your diary. Everyone is welcome. Come every day, or drop in when you can.

Goodbye to all that

It has been a long winter. But March is here and brings the spring – yesterday was St David’s Day. I am mindful of this great and early Welsh saint, from whence my surname originates. (Davies = David’s). He is remembered for his Christian communities, his asceticism, and his teaching. His “strapline”, for want of a better phrase, was to “do the little things” – remember kindness, mercy, and love. Leave the big stuff to God. Even fifteen hundred years later, these words resonate for our time. May God’s blessing and peace be with us all.

Revd Kevin Davies.

St David, with his Bishop’s crook, and the Holy Spirit as a dove.
