Dear friends,
A very warm welcome to this service, wherever you are worshipping this morning in the Langtree Team Ministry Area.
A special welcome to guests and family members who are with us for the first time.
For those of you who are affected in some way by (yet another) arbitrary and ill-publicised set of road closures (especially Woodcote) very well done indeed for making it through to church this morning. The service at North Stoke has had to be cancelled today, because of the timing of the closure of the Goring to Wallingford road. One might venture to suggest that those who wish to organise a national cycling event might next year consider doing so in an area where the roads are in better condition, and generally have a lower traffic density on them. Areas such as Cumbria, Northumberland, and mid Wales spring to mind.
Please make every effort to attend the visit by the Bishop of Oxford to our area, which is on Thursday evening at Shiplake Church, from 7.45pm until 9.30pm. There will be a chance to ask the Bishop questions about his recently declared priorities for our Diocese, on which he will be speaking.
Finally a reminder that on Sunday 30th July there will be a Team service at 10.30am at St John’s Stoke Row. There will be no other main morning services around the Team, so please do come and share together with each other at Stoke Row. It is very special when we are able to be together, to praise God for his love, and the hope that we share in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Your Rector and servant for His sake Revd Canon Kevin Davies
