Dear friends,
A very warm welcome to our worship this morning. If you are on holiday, or visiting friends and family, do make yourself known to the minister. May God’s peace be with you.
The quiet Sundays of the summer holidays are the perfect time to pay a little more attention to the things that we take for granted: the peace we enjoy, the homes that we have, our family and friends, and the sanctuary of our local churches. Time away can remind us of the different ways others choose to (or are forced to) live. Sometimes such differences can challenge our faith, or strengthen it.
This weekend sees thousands of young people descending upon Reading for the annual rock festival. Lets pray for the churches in Reading and all the agencies who are involved in caring for these visitors on the festival site. Lets pray for the young people, that they would have a good time, in safety, and be able to enjoy the music. May they each find what they are looking for.
May the love of God fill, and inspire you. Your Rector Revd Canon Kevin Davies
