Seven Churches in South Oxfordshire

From the Rector: SUnday 14th October 2018

Welcome

Dear friends,

A very warm welcome to this service, wherever you are worshipping in the Langtree Team ministry area. A special welcome to you if you are with us for the first time, or are visiting friends or family. Do make yourself known to your minister, and if you are able to please stay on after the service for coffee, which is offered in most of our churches.

Harvest

Thank you to everyone who has been involved with our Harvest services; printing service orders, preparing music, decorating churches, offering hospitality. There are photos on the Team website and facebook page for you to enjoy, which will be added to over the coming weeks.

Remembrance

The next big services to be held in our churches will be the Remembrance Sunday ones on 11th November. This year is the centenary of the end of the first world war, and the commemoration will be a significant event for us both locally and nationally. Please mark it in your diary !

Your prayers are asked for Revd Alan Gates, and his wife Margaret. Alan is on sick leave, and needs time to rest. Services at Ipsden and North Stoke for October are being covered by the rest of the staff team and Alan hopes to be well enough to return to work by the end of the month.

Good News for Goring

In the wider deanery there is good news from the Goring benefice in that the Revd Ben Phillips has been appointed to the vacancy there, and will be moving to Goring before Easter next year. We in Langtree are still very involved in helping the Goring benefice. Linda as Area Dean shares leadership resonsibility with the churchwardens; and Kevin and Claire act as training incumbents for Steve and Wendy respectively, who are the two curates in training in the Goring benefice.

with every blessing in our Lord Jesus

Your Rector

Revd Canon Kevin Davies
