Seven Churches in South Oxfordshire

From the Rector: Mothering Sunday 26th March 2017

Dear friends,

A very warm welcome to this Mothering Sunday Service, wherever you are worshipping this morning in our Langtree Team Ministry area. A special welcome to mothers, grandmothers, and all of our visitors today. May the peace of Christ be with us as we share together in worship and give thanks for the love that God gives in so many ways, and especially today as we remember all that our mothers shared with and taught us over their lifetimes.

Do stay after the service to enjoy refreshments, as most of our churches will be offering these today.

Looking ahead a little to the Easter celebrations, you will find the details of all the services across the Team for Good Friday and Easter on the Team ministry website. www.langtreechurches.org  Please click on the tab that says “festivals” under Sunday Services.

While you are on the website, do check out the recent photo of the East Window at Checkendon; last Sunday we were considering the story of Jesus and the Samaritan women meeting at Jacob’s Well, which is the theme of this particular window. What does the woman ask Jesus for ? (her question is at the bottom of the window….and you will also find it in John chapter 4)

Your Rector                                                                Revd Canon Kevin Davies

Please pray for:

Those with long term illness, whether at home or in hospital.

Those cared for by family, or friends.

Those preparing to be married this year.

Those who have recently become parents.

Those who struggle to afford to feed their children.
