From the Rector: Christmas Eve 2017

Splendid real Christmas Tree at Checkendon Church

Dear friends,

A very happy Christmas to you from all of us on the Langtree Team Ministry staff. A very warm welcome to our services across the Team area on this Christmas Eve. May the joy of the angels fill our hearts and our worship as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour.

Services for Christmas Day are as advertised later on this sheet. You can also find up to date service information on the Team Website: www.langtreechurches.org.    Next Sunday (31st) is our annual Team Service of alternative Carols and readings, which this year is being hosted by St Leonard’s, Woodcote, at 10.30am. Do join us if you are able.

There being no notice sheet next Sunday this will be my final “from the Rector”  before I join Bishop Andrew of Reading in his pilgrimage to Ethiopia in January. So it is fitting to conclude with a “pilgrim prayer” which I hope we all can pray as one year closes and another begins and as we all grow in our own journeys in faith and life.

“Pilgrim God, You are our origin and our destination. Travel with us, we pray, in every pilgrimage of faith, and every journey of the heart. Give us the courage to begin, the nourishment we need to travel well, and the welcome we long for at the jounrey’s end. So may we grow in grace and love of you and in the service of others, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
