Seven Churches in South Oxfordshire

From the Rector: Sunday 30th June 2019

Dear friends,

Welcome to our Team celebration service this morning at St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Checkendon. We are celebrating these two great saints (whose feast day is 29th June) this weekend with a special service, and a meal at the Highwayman. Listen out in the sermon today and see if you can discover why it is that these two are often found together in church dedications….when they actually spent very little time together in life.

Should euthanasia be legalised in the UK? The Rector is going to be examining this difficult subject in next week’s service of Morning Prayer, at Checkendon, at 11am.

One of the joys of being part of a Team Ministry is that over time we have the opportunity to make friends and get to know our brothers and sisters in neighbouring churches, and can support and care for each other as well as share resources. Today in our Team Service why not give thanks to God for each other, not only for the heritage that we share, but for the faithful future that we offer to our wider communities.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, may he make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.

Your Rector                                      Canon Kevin Davies
