Seven Churches in South Oxfordshire

From the Rector: Sunday 4th December

Dear Friends,

A very warm welcome to this service, wherever you are worshipping in the Langtree Team ministry area. A particular welcome if you are visiting us for the first time or are staying with friends and family. May God’s peace be upon us all this Advent season. Today we remember the prophets such as Isaiah and Micah, who saw into God’s heart and told what they saw, and who looked forward to God’s coming Messiah.

There is a special time of Advent prayer open to all across the Team Ministry this Wednesday (7th) at St John’s Stoke Row from 7.30-9.30pm. It will be led by Revd Linda Smith from Woodcote, and Mrs Liz Lowth from Checkendon. Everyone is most welcome to come along, and put aside the rush to Christmas for a short while with some “Watching and Waiting” through a variety of prayer stations. Refreshments will also be served.

A special thank you to those of who came last week to welcome Archdeacon Judy French to a number of our services. As preparations are made for our Christmas services across the Team don’t forget to begin inviting your family visitors and neighbours to the Carols or other special services. Details of these can be found on the Team website under the festivals tab, and will appear also on this sheet.

Finally, do take a few moments before the service to pause, enjoy the stillness, and give thanks to God for His mercy to us all.

Your servant for Christ’s sake                             Revd Kevin Davies
