A very warm welcome to this service, wherever you are worshipping in the Langtree Team Churches area this morning. May the peace of Christ be with us all.

Our Harvest Thanksgiving services commence today at St Leonard’s Church, Woodcote, and continue over the next three Sundays. Next Sunday (1st October) there are Harvest services at Checkendon at 11am, and Stoke Row at 4pm. These services are great opportunities to come and share in gratitude for God’s provision for us all, and are good services to invite friends and family along as a way of experiencing a church service for the first time.

Please remember in your prayers Toby Mottram and Grace Kirby, who will be married at Checkendon next Saturday (30th Sept). Please also pray for our Bishops – Steven (Oxford) and Colin (Dorchester) in their ministries, and the Ven Judy French our Archdeacon. I’m pleased to report that Bishop Colin will be conducting a confirmation service in our Team ministry area next September, so if anyone from our churches would like to begin to explore what confirmation might mean for you, please do make yourself known to your local minister.

Finally, in these troubled times, let us hold fast to the promises of Psalm 27:

“The Lord is my light an my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
