First of Advent (Purple)

Dear Friends,

It is Advent Sunday ! The season of waiting, and watching, a traditional fasting time (like Lent), a time of expectant hope, and prayerful reflection on God’s saving action in Jesus Christ. A very warm welcome to our Advent celebrations across the Langtree Team ministry area. May you find the peace and space in our worship to engage a little with the meaning of this sacred time, when the four last things (heaven, hell, death and judgement) come a little to the foreground as we journey through the candles of the Advent ring. May this new church year be one of resolute hope for us all.

Next Saturday (5th December) the members of Checkendon Church invite you to a coffee and mince pie morning at Checkendon Village Hall from 10.30am. It is a wonderful chance to meet up, catch up, and take half an hour away from whatever pressures you may be finding yourself under at the moment. Do drop in  if you are passing.
