Seven Churches in South Oxfordshire

From the Rector: Sunday 6th May 2018

Dear friends,

A very warm welcome to this service, wherever you are worshipping this morning across the Langtree Team area. A particular welcome if you are with us for the first time, or visiting friends and family. A special welcome to our visitors (at Checkendon) who have come from North Kensington with the charity Nova Opportunities. We wish you God’s peace and blessing, and an enjoyable day in the country exploring Checkendon village and the Equestrian Centre.

Just to confirm that the time of my presentation on Ethiopia has had to be changed (many apologies to those of you who are inconvenienced by this). It remains on Tuesday 8th May at the Old Stables, Whitchurch on Thames, but is now at 2pm. Anyone from the Team Area is very welcome to attend. The presentation – I have many excellent photographs – will last about an hour.

A number of the clergy from the deanery have been able to attend the Diocesan conference with Bishop Steven which ran from Monday to Thursday last week, and we look forward to hearing back from Linda and Claire in due course. Bishop Steven is encouraging us all to be contemplative, compassionate and courageous as churches, with the aim of becoming more Christ-like in our mission and ministry. You will be able to find videos of the teaching sessions on the Diocesan website: www.oxford.anglican.org

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him

Your rector Canon Kevin Davies
