Seven Churches in South Oxfordshire

From the Rector: Sunday 19th August 2018

Dear friends,

A very warm welcome to this service, wherever you are worshipping this morning in the churches of the Langtree Team Ministry. A particular welcome if you are with us for the first time, or visiting with friends and family. May God’s peace and joy through Jesus Christ be with us all.

Please remember in your prayers Christina Gillespie, and John Ramsay, who were married at Checkendon yesterday. May their life together be one of hope, and faith, and love. Your prayers are also asked for Rex Elliott Dewhurst, who is to be baptised at Checkendon this morning. Give thanks to God for His great love in Creation, and the care and compassion of so many who help us as we build our families.

We continue to pray for the life and work of all our local farmers and those who manage and steward our water resources – rivers, reservoirs, and boreholes. Water scarcity is a fact of life for many people across the world, and it comes as an unwelcome shock to us in our normally water affluent part of the world to realise that water itself is finite, and precious.

Finally please don’t forget that we are in the midst of exam results season – A levels last week, and GSCEs this coming week. Please ask God to guide those who are unsure as to their path ahead in life.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him.

Your Rector Canon Kevin Davies
