Seven Churches in South Oxfordshire

From the Rector: Sunday 17th June 2018

Dear friends,

A very warm welcome to this service from all of us across the Langtree Team Ministry Churches. May God give you hope and joy in our worship today.

A special welcome to those who are visiting or with us for the first time, including friends and family of Ivy Kew, who is being baptised this morning at St Peter and St Paul, Checkendon. We pray that Ivy may know the love and peace of Jesus on her journey through life. We also pray that we will each respond to God’s love in faith and service. Our Father in heaven delights to share our stories, and he will walk with us if we simply invite him alongside. Baptism is our public response to God’s offer, and our chance to invite God to be with us every single day.

Please continue to pray for those who are in the midst of public examinations, whether at GSCE, A level, or at  University. It is a stressful time for both young students and their teachers alike. We also pray for those who are involved in the setting and marking of exam papers, and for those who are involved in educational research and teacher training.

Don’t forget to get your tickets for the Reading Phoenix Choir at Checkendon, on Friday 29th, at 7.30pm. This promises to be a wonderful concert in an acoustically excellent setting. Tickets, including canapes and refreshments, are on sale here:

Finally, take a few moments to look back on the week that has gone by.   What would you most like to give thanks to God for?

Yours in Christ’s service                                      Revd  Canon Kevin Davies
